Well we arrived safely home on Wednesday from California and it felt good to be back in South Jersey. Amazingly we left beautiful weather and came home to exactly the same. A wonderful time; we were wined, dined, enjoyed family, friends, laughter and love. However, here in South Jersey we can have a very similar experience, just no rolling hills and mountains. We have amazing families, friends, wineries, like Sharrott, breweries like Flying Fish, and very soon farmers markets in Collingswood and Haddonfield will be brimming with local vegetables, fresh flowers, local eggs, as well as meat and poultry. Home is where the heart is and my heart is here. I have been blessed with a wonderful husband and a beautiful family, not just my daughters, but all the extended family that has grown over the years. I am anxious to get back in the kitchen and prepare many of the recipes of spring and summer. Foccia topped with fresh tomato sauce made with garlic and fresh basil, zucchini flowers fried crisp, lightly salted and warm, “summer macaroni”, ziti layered with fresh sliced tomatoes, grated pecorino mixed with breadcrumb, garlic, fresh basil, drizzled with EVOO and baked in the oven until the top is a golden brown. Life is beautiful and very precious, enjoy it with those you “love.” My Love to all and a very “Happy Birthday” to my beautiful baby girl!
