As we celebrate our great country’s birthday, memories flood my brain of a day thirty-nine years ago when the original party girl left this earth. My mother-in-law loved a party and no matter what the celebration she was right there, front and center. I still see this proud woman belting out an Italian song, in Italian of course, in front of the band or on the stage. She had an absolutely beautiful voice and loved to sing! She was a lovely woman; taught me a great deal. I am grateful for the love and son she gave to me. Not a surprise at all that she passed away on July 4, 1976, our country’s 200 hundredth birthday. As I told my husband it was just like her to make a grand exit on one of the biggest celebrations. Here’s to you Mom! I know you are enjoying those heavenly parties.
Happy 4th of July to All!
